The VIRB XE boosts maximum resolution to 1440p at 30 frames per second, and a lower-res but still full HD 1080p at 60fps. Where they diverge is in features and recording resolution.
To blend in all those data streams, you’ll need to use Garmin’s proprietary editing software, VIRB Edit. GPS offers data streams for location, speed, elevation and distance, among others along with ANT+ data streams from sensors like a heart rate strap, or your power meter, you get a data-rich overlay on the video footage.
